If working with mechanical seals for pumps and agitators is part of your daily routine, this training course is for you.
Whether you are an engineer, millwright, operator, maintenance technician, supervisor, planner or any other person involved in the use, repair, installation, operation etc. of mechanical seals: This course gives you background knowledge and confidence.
In addition to comprehensive and relevant sealing knowledge, this course also covers application specifics, the appropriate seal supply systems and piping plans, and the professional assembly of mechanical seals. We include theoretical and practical parts on materials for sliding parts, workshops on failure analysis, the inspection and recognition of damage patterns. And we combine all this with detailed information on pump operation and hydraulics. All of this will help you to improve performance and increase the availability of your applications.

Upon requestThis 2.5-day training course is conducted in a classroom setting at our Academy training facilities in Eurasburg, Germany.
The course provides participants with a solid foundation in the sealing technology of EagleBurgmann Dry Gas Seal (DGS) products, related services, and associated applications.
Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the operating principles of gas-lubricated seals and learn about the specific components and unique design features that characterize DGS technology. This includes a discussion of the underlying physical principles and sealing mechanisms. The course also provides an overview of SMS gas supply systems, enabling attendees to understand their structure, functionality, and interaction with DGS systems.
Through practical assembly exercises and guided tours of our production facilities and DGS test rigs, participants will experience the sophisticated design, tight manufacturing tolerances, and critical distinguishing features of DGS seals compared to other sealing technologies.
The materials used in DGS seals differ significantly from those commonly found in conventional "liquid lubricated" seals. The course therefore covers the fundamentals of material selection for seal face materials as well as secondary sealing elements used in DGS applications. In addition, participants will learn about critical operating conditions encountered in typical DGS applications and how these conditions can influence seal performance, reliability, failure prevention, and root cause analysis.
This training combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, providing participants with the skills required to better understand, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Dry Gas Seal systems.
Target group
This course is designed for operations and maintenance professionals who are responsible for the installation, commissioning, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Dry Gas Seals (DGS) used in pumps, agitators, and compressors.
Previous Knowledge Required
Participants should possess a solid foundation in general sealing technology. Prior attendance at an introductory course on mechanical seals and their operating environment, or equivalent practical experience, is strongly recommended.
