During op­er­a­tion, shaft seals in machines and plants are con­tin­u­ously sub­jected to forces of varying strength and di­rec­tion. Typical lip seals have dif­fi­culty coping with these con­di­tions. In­creased wear, leakage that can reduce quality, and costly seal re­place­ment are all avoid­able.

The SeccoLip lip seal is an entirely new design that combines the func­tion­al­ity of a shaft sealing lip with the re­li­a­bil­ity and safety of a me­chan­i­cal seal.

The patented com­bi­na­tion of the PTFE sealing lip and the sliding part can com­pen­sate for any shaft de­flec­tion directly and reliably thanks to a special com­pen­sa­tion function.

The strengths and highlights of the SeccoLip lip seal series

Thanks to its modular design, the SeccoLip series is the ideal sealing solution for a wide range of applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries. It can handle overpressure and vacuum processes, and it is compatible both with stainless steel (SeccoLip481) and glass-lined vessels (SeccoLip461). The SeccoLip can also be operated with two, three, or four lips. The seal lip arrangement is variable and can be customized for a perfect fit.

The SeccoLip does not require the usual compensating elements such as O-rings, expansion discs, or metal bellows. Although they are not necessary, roller bearings and a temperature sensor are available as optional extras. The same applies to the glass-lined flange, as the SeccoLip461 seal can easily adapt to existing glass-lined machine flanges. These features make the SeccoLip a cost-effective, low-maintenance sealing solution.

The pre-assembled, tested, closed design ensures reliable sealing and easy installation. Since the SeccoLip does not contain sensitive parts, such as springs, drivers, sliding rings, or counter rings, its sealing lips can be quickly and easily replaced on site.

The seal can be relied upon in Zone 0 explosion protection areas without a temperature sensor. The EC type examination for the new SeccoLipR component in ATEX Zone 0 is planned for 2026.

The sealing lips are made of PTFE material that satisfies the FDA's strict regulations. Thanks to its minimized dead space design, the SeccoLip is hygienic and safe to operate. Its EC 1935/2004 certification ensures it is safe for use in the food industry.

The SeccoLip is low-emission and therefore perfectly environmentally safe.

If you're looking for a reliable way to prevent abrasive or crys­talline media from entering, look no further. The Sec­coL­ipR, the latest addition to our SeccoLip seal series, is an in­no­v­a­tive sealing com­po­nent that is in­stalled on the product side. Thanks to its spe­cially de­vel­oped metal shield, it reliably protects the PTFE sealing lips from abrasion and in­creas­ing leakage, even in direct contact with the product. An ad­di­tional PTFE sealing element provides improved throt­tling func­tion­al­ity compared to other so­lu­tions on the market.

The SeccoLipR component is designed specifically for use with the SeccoLip481L. However, it can also be used with other seals or as a standalone solution.
