Dr. Sebastian Weiss to be new CFO of EagleBurgmann Germany
Effective September 1, 2016, Dr. Sebastian Weiss joined the Board of Management of EagleBurgmann Germany, a Joint Venture of the German Freudenberg Group and the Japanese Eagle Industry Group, as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Within the EagleBurgmann group he will be assuming the tasks from Jochen Strasser, who will leave the company. As of September 2016, the Board of Management of the seal manufacturer, with its company headquarters based in Wolfratshausen, Germany, consists of Dr. Andreas Raps (CEO), Michael Stomberg (COO) and Dr. Sebastian Weiss (CFO).
Dr. Sebastian Weiss (47) holds a degree in Economics of the University of Stuttgart/Germany and obtained a doctorate in Economic Science from the University of Zurich/Switzerland in 1999. After working for the management consultancy Stern Stewart & Co in Munich, Germany, Dr. Sebastian Weiss joined the Freudenberg Group in Weinheim/Germany in 2003 as Senior Consultant Mergers & Acquisitions. In 2006 he joined EagleBurgmann in Houston/Texas as CFO Americas until 2008 and then Vice President and Chairman of this Business Area. In 2011 he became Global CFO of Freudenberg IT in Weinheim/Germany, and starting 2015 in Durham/North Carolina. In the EagleBurgmann Board of Management he is responsible for Finance & Controlling as well as for IT & Process Management.
